The LOTUS (Sanskrit padma) is one of the most poignant representations of Buddhist teaching. It refers to the complete peace and purification of body, speech and mind, and the blossoming of spirit. The roots of a lotus are in the mud, the stem grows up through the water, and the heavily scented flower lies pristinely above, basking in the sunlight. This pattern of growth signifies the progress of spirit… from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. Though other water plants also bloom above the water, it is only the lotus, which owing to the strength of its stem, regularly rises eight to twelve inches above the surface.
Beth Webber is owner and founder of Zoe Lotus Healing Arts. She began as a body worker over ten years ago at the Florida College of Natural Health. She continued her education in various modalities including neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, structural integration, prenatal massage, and yoga as movement therapy. Beth’s journey continued with the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine and herbs at the Florida College of Integrative Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Professional Health Studies and a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine. She is nationally certified with the NCCAOM and a member of the American Association of Oriental Medicine. She practices Japanese acupuncture, Classical acupuncture, Maya Abdominal Massage and prefers blending modalities — trusting intuition over prescription. Over the years, Beth has especially enjoyed working with women and has deepened her studies and practice in the specialty of holistic gynecology and obstetrics.
She is honored to have studied directly with Dr. Rosita Arvigo in the techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage. Beth is a member of the Maya Abdominal Massage Association, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, and Postpartum Support International of Washington. She is committed and passionate about helping others in an integrative approach to health and wellness. Beth has practiced with doulas, midwives, physicians, mental health counselors, massage therapists, and yoga teachers in the quest for a deeper understanding of the body/mind/spirit and its potential.
Beth was born in Pennsylvania and spent over 20 years in Florida before embarking on her adventure to the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her musician husband Webb and beloved daughter Zoe. When she’s not seeing patients, Beth enjoys music, cooking, travel, yoga, reading, spending time with friends and family, and being momma – bearing witness to her daughter’s wondrous spirit.
